Editing Audio and Video for Submission to the Customer Portal

If you are looking to trim your audio or video before submitting for transcription, you can use readily available and free software, such as Audacity, to trim audio files, or Quicktime for video files, or NCH's Switch Sound Converter to convert audio files to other digital formats.

Audacity can be downloaded here and instructions can be found here. Please note that you should download the version of the program called "Audacity" rather than "Audacity Beta."

Quicktime should already be available on your Mac. If you are using a PC, you can download here. Click the "Edit" header and you will be taken to instructions explaining how the program can be used to edit your file. Directly beneath the "Edit" instructions is a section called "Trim." This portion of the instructions explains how to trim your file prior to submission.

NCH's Switch Sound Converter for PC or Mac can be found here. It is free, easy to use, and can convert files of any size to multiple formats.

After you have trimmed your audio or video, you can then submit it directly to the Customer Portal. Please see our Customer Portal Walkthrough for instructions on how to use it.

We hope this information is useful to you. If you have any questions about file submission, please contact support@transcribeme.com
